We have received a report of Nemont Customers receiving a pop up virus alert on their computer. This pop up message is a virus and an attempt to fraudulently gain access to your personal information.
The Reported Virus Pop Up Alert states the following:
"WARNING: Nemont Customer - Your Internet Explorer browser and Your PC may have critical security vulnerabilities. Call xxx-xxx-xxxx for Immediate assistance.
**THIS MESSAGE IS NOT FROM OR AFFILIATED WITH NEMONT.
These individuals will claim to be affiliated with Nemont and that they can remove the virus remotely for a fee. The individual then requests the customer's credit card information.
**This is NOT a representative of Nemont Telephone. These are individuals that have infected your machine with a virus and identified your ISP via your IP Address.
BE SAFE - PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION - HANG UP - Call 1-800-636-6680.
In the event that you have already encountered this scam and have provided your credit card information, contact your credit card provider immediately.
